Dr. Jessica Fitzpatrick

Dr. Jessica Fitzpatrick

Veterinarian - Interest in Animal Behaviour

Like most vets, my love for animals began before I can remember and veterinary medicine is the only job I’ve ever aspired to.

I started as a tech assistant in an emergency clinic in Edmonton where I worked throughout my undergrad at the University of Alberta and during my breaks from vet school. I attended the University of Melbourne in Australia and developed interests in animal behaviour and pain management.

When I’m not at work I can be found hanging out with my cavalier Penelope or baking.

Dr. Kristie Smith

Dr. Kristie Smith

Veterinarian - Interest in orthopedics and rehabilitation/sports medicine.

Dr. Kristie Smith graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2012 and worked in a small town practice for a couple of years before making the move to Alberta with her family of greyhounds and rabbits. Currently, she shares her home with two greyhounds – Kili and Kenna – and two rabbits – Rilian and Zara. She is an avid agility competitor with her dogs and loves exploring what is possible with positive reinforcement training. When she and her dogs aren't on the road to competitions, she can be found travelling with her Ultimate Frisbee team to tournaments.

These activities also shape her as a veterinarian. Kristie enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but she especially enjoys surgery and would like to one day pursue her interest in orthopedics and rehabilitation/sports medicine. Her other primary interest is behaviour and helping anxious, fearful, and aggressive pets feel less overwhelmed by their environments.
