July Pet of the Month

 Hi!

My name is Picasso.  Recently, I came to see Dr. Kristina Hughes because my mom had noticed me having some odd behaviors.  I'm usually pretty good, but I couldn't help urinating inappropriately.  I was so thirsty all the time.

At first, we were not sure what the problem was.  I was in for a dental not long before I came in, where I appeared to be healthy.  At that time we did bloodwork and all of my values came out normal.  At first, we thought that maybe it could have been a switch in diet that triggered my unusual behavior.  To be on the safe side, Dr. Kristina Hughes recommended that we do bloodwork again, and also to run a urinalysis.

Good thing we did the tests, because the results came back to show that I am a diabetic!  Dr. Kristina started me on insulin twice per day.  I am also being fed a new diet now.  A little while later, I came back to have my glucose levels checked again.  The doctors recommend this to make sure that the insulin is working.

It has been a few weeks now, and I feel fantastic!
